Peak Race, High Altitude, High Threshold, High Prize Money
The 2025 CHANDO Himalaya Extreme Trail Running Race is set up in three categories, namely “Nature's Secret 7KM”, “Breaking through the Limit 35KM” and “Conquering the Peak 55KM”, and only provides 300 precious places for participation. Only 300 precious places are available for participation. Among them, the altitude range of the 55KM course is between 3,380-4,680 meters, with an average of 4,035 meters, which is the highest altitude value and average value in China's trail running races since 2021. Running into the thin air zone and being in the complex environment of high mountains, every breath is accompanied by a heart-breaking pleasure, and every step gives you a different kind of hardship.
Extreme challenges call for the most enduring body and the coolest mind. In order to ensure safety, the competition stipulates that participants in the two categories with longer distances must have both cross-country running experience and high-altitude self-rescue skills, which is the highest participation threshold in the same level of competition in China. High difficulty and high threshold also mean high level, and the event has set up a generous prize fund, which is very attractive to the top experts. The top six male and female finishers in the longer distance categories will receive cash prizes totaling 200,000 RMB.
Experience the unique flavor of the Himalayas with a beautiful view
The Himalaya is a battlefield for physical challenges, but also a sanctuary for spiritual cleansing. As one of the world's highest extreme cross-country running events, the race route looks at China's most beautiful peaks - Namcha Barwa Peak and other 7,000-meter snow-covered mountains, allowing runners to feel the majesty of the Himalayan Mountains in the run. The race starts and finishes in the town of Lulang, Linzhi City, where the beautiful natural scenery, rich biological and water resources allow runners to experience the profound charm of the Himalayan regional culture.
There are three groups in the event, covering different courses from 3380 meters to 4680 meters above sea level, and each group of runners will face multiple tests of high altitude and complex terrain in the intertwined landscapes of alpine meadows, plateau lakes and Himalayan regional style villages. “Breakthrough 35KM” will pass through the Himalayan secret places such as Namai Village and Bafeng Terrace; ‘Conquer the Peak 55KM’ has a cumulative climbing height of 2,173 meters, and passes through the highland lakes such as Gongtso Lake, Nyangyotso and Maramu, as well as landmarks such as Huujiao and Babu. The Namcha Barwa Peak, Nai Peng Peak and other peaks can be seen from afar, interpreting the deeper meaning of “ultimate endurance” with diversified sceneries and tougher challenges.
Professional guarantee, safety and experience at the same time
In order to ensure safety, the organizing committee will not only configure professional rescue forces during the race, but also require players to prepare 18 pieces of mandatory equipment such as windproof and waterproof jackets, first-aid blankets, GPS positioning devices, etc., so that players can comfortably cope with the inclement weather, such as low-temperature rainfall. In addition, the race committee will also check the mandatory equipment several times during the check-in and check-in of runners, and those who are missing any of the items will not be allowed to participate in the race. On the basis of basic insurance, the race committee will make it mandatory for all runners to provide medical examination certificates within one year and purchase high-cost accident insurance, so as to provide double protection for safety.
Environmental protection concept, strict standards
It is especially worth mentioning that this race advocates “no trace of mountains and fields”, which is deeply in line with the environmental protection concept of CHANDO, “Taking from nature, giving back to nature”. The race will not provide any disposable supplies, and runners will use their own tableware to enjoy hot food at the supply stations and the finish line dining area. In addition, runners are required to carry their garbage in a sealed bag and drop it off at a designated location. Complaints about littering and other environmental violations will result in the disqualification of results after verification by the race committee.
