Release time:2025.03.04

Following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck Tingri County, Shigatse, Tibet, on January 7, CHANDO Group swiftly took action. On January 8, under the guidance of the 10th Shanghai Aid-Tibet Cadre Team, the Group collaborated with the China Environmental Protection Foundation to urgently donate RMB 1.2 million to the disaster-stricken areas. The funds were specifically allocated to procure critical earthquake relief supplies, standing in solidarity with affected communities during this challenging time.

The severe aftermath of the Shigatse earthquake deeply concerned every member of the CHANDO family. CHANDO Group will continue to monitor the situation closely and fully support relief efforts. Here, we also extend our highest respect to all relevant authorities, public welfare organizations, and frontline rescue personnel.

Since 2016, CHANDO—a natural high-tech brand originating from the Himalayas—has partnered with the China Environmental Protection Foundation to establish the "CHANDO Himalaya Environmental Protection Public Welfare Fund", dedicated to protecting Himalayan glaciers, rare flora and fauna, and unique cultural heritage. Starting in 2017, CHANDO has planted green barley grass annually in Shigatse to safeguard the Himalayan ecosystem and fulfill corporate social responsibility. As of 2024, the Group has cumulatively donated RMB 26 million and planted 6.66 million square meters of green barley grass, improving the ecological environment while contributing to rural revitalization.

Additionally, in 2023, CHANDO launched the "CHANDO Spring Buds Program" in collaboration with the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, focusing on the growth and development of women in Tibet. From 2023 to 2024, CHANDO donated a total of RMB 3.6 million to the Tibet Autonomous Regional Women’s Federation, funding 511 outstanding female college and high school students in Tibet. This support enables them to complete their education, access scientific literacy training, and share in high-quality educational opportunities.

May the Himalayan homeland be rebuilt swiftly, and may all people stay safe!
