On August 21, the eighth season of the "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" public welfare initiative, jointly launched by CHANDO Group and the China Environmental Protection Foundation, held a ceremony in the Himalayan region to witness the maturation and harvest of 1 million square meters of green wheatgrass. As of 2024, the "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" initiative has continuously planted 6.66 million square meters of green wheatgrass in the Himalayan region for eight consecutive years, protecting the ecological environment of the Himalayas, promoting rural revitalization, and embodying the spirit of "pursuing beauty and acting with kindness."

Commitment to Himalayan Ecological Protection and Biodiversity Conservation
The Himalayas, known as the "Third Pole of the Earth," are home to thousands of rare species. However, their high altitude, unpredictable climate, and fragile ecosystem face dual pressures from global climate change and overexploitation, leading to severe soil erosion and vegetation degradation. Since 2017, the "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" initiative has cultivated deep-rooted green wheatgrass in the region to improve soil quality, aiding in the restoration and protection of biodiversity.

Wang Zhengang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Environmental Protection Foundation, stated that the "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" initiative has significantly improved the ecological environment through meticulous planning and scientific cultivation of artificial forage. The optimized soil structure and enhanced fertility lay a solid foundation for ecological self-restoration and sustainable development. More importantly, this transformation directly benefits local herders by increasing their income. Additionally, the artificial forage project plays a positive role in combating global climate change.

This year marks the fourth year of planting in Lhaze County. Li Yunfeng, Member of the Lhaze County Standing Committee and Deputy County Governor, highlighted the project’s impact: "Over four years, Gangxi Village has generated approximately CNY 1.199 million in cash income and CNY 6.75 million in forage value through this initiative, totaling CNY 7.95 million. In 2023 alone, the per capita disposable income of villagers exceeded CNY 21,000, a year-on-year increase of over 50%. This year’s income is expected to match last year’s level."

Peng Yihao, Leader of the Tenth Batch of Shanghai Aid-Tibet Cadres, remarked, "For the Himalayan region, forage is critically scarce, especially in winter when we must purchase it at high costs from other provinces. The harvested forage today has enabled Lhaze County to achieve self-sufficiency in fodder supply."

CHANDO Collaborates with Partners and Consumers to Amplify Public Welfare
In 2016, CHANDO partnered with the China Environmental Protection Foundation to establish the "CHANDO Himalaya Environmental Protection Public Welfare Fund," dedicated to protecting the glaciers, rare flora and fauna, and unique cultures of the Himalayas. Over eight consecutive years, the "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" initiative has planted 6.66 million square meters of green wheatgrass in Shigatse, delivering triple benefits—ecological, economic, and social—by safeguarding the Himalayan environment while providing alternative income streams and improving local living standards.

The "CHANDO Greening Himalaya" initiative has established a "Public Welfare Partnership" mechanism, converting every purchase by consumers into support for the Himalayan ecosystem. For each bottle of CHANDO REJUVENATION REPAIRING ESSENCE (6th Generation) sold, CHANDO donates CNY 10 to the China Environmental Protection Foundation to plant 1 million square meters of green wheatgrass. As of 2024, cumulative donations have reached CNY 26 million.
As the "Greening Himalaya" initiative enters its eighth season, CHANDO has collaborated with media and brands such as Health & Beauty, Xiabuxiabu, FBeauty, and Qingyan to amplify the call for public participation in this significant endeavor, encouraging everyone to contribute to the ecological protection of the Himalayas.
